In September, 21 team members of Interland Group from a range of sub companies (including Via, Rooms & Studios, Interland Head Office and Palm Hotel) and a range of roles, took a trip to Luton Hoo Hotel for a unique team building event.
The event was run by Right Angle, a company who organise ‘team focused experiences that inspire, engage and create amazing memories.’ There were two aspects to the team building event; the first was a High-Performance Team Experience which involved exploring each team member’s personality and how they would act under certain situations. We also looked at our team values and how we currently communicate with each other and recognition of staff. This exercise was very insightful, and we relished in the opportunity to draw out useful information from each and every team member which we could bring back to the workplace and utilise.
The second aspect was The Crystal Challenge! Based on the 90s game show, this challenge was one that the team will never forget. We were split into small teams and had to compete against each other through both physical and mental challenges to win crystals. The challenge involved riddle solving, building without instructions and herding blind folded participants – to name a few!
The top two teams who had collected the most crystals had to face each other in the crystal dome to get the most gold tickets with the winning team taking home the trophy.
The team enjoyed a private dinner in the evening where we were able to share our experiences of the day’s action and consolidate the valuable information, we had learnt about ourselves, each other, and Interland Group.
